Thoughts?

Are we really here at all,
Or just imaginings –
In someone else’s dreams.
Is everything as we think it is,
And all just as it seems?

“I think therefore I am” -
Said Descartes – so wise,
But are our thoughts our own –
I ask,
Or through another’s eyes?

Is the dreamer the one –
who’s in control,
Our fate within their hands,
Playing with our destinies
In strange, unchartered lands?

And when the dreamer
Awakens,
Is that then our demise,
As we cease to exist – forever -
In the dreamer’s eyes?

Or are we the dreamer,
And nothing is as it seems –
This life we ‘live’
Being nothing more,
Than inconsequential dreams?

When I was young ions ago, I used to feel this way veejay. when things went bad I imagined that someone, some supreme beings were watching and studying us. Sometimes it was hard to imagine what was real and what was not, are we insects to some? are we animals in a zoo? what are we?
